My Favorite Vintage Shoes

I thought to add a dose of menswear to the blog after being away for so long and readers who have mailed me requesting to add more menswear stories. One Nigerian Boy is not strictly for women, its FASHION period.

As I continue to advance in age I find that I like proper dress shoes more than any other kind of footwear. My tastes are so deep that if I walked into a roomful of people it’s probably only the elderly ones that would fancy my grandpa looking shoes.

My favorite shoes in my wardrobe are all vintage and over 10 years old each from the look you sef go know and I got them all from my coded guy at his bend down select roadside stall somewhere on Lagos island.
These tassel loafers are my favorite of the pack and they are by Nunn Bush, known for quality and craftsmanship.
These are Tombelli, I don’t need to tell you that they are Italian kmt. I wear them the most out of the shoes featured here. These shoes give me pure oxygen, even though at first they were sort of tight on the feet.
The vintage levels wan kill dis one, so tey d name sef don peel comot  fact these shoes are sort of ugly at first sight and cool later makes them one of my favorites. I mostly wear shoes without socks so the holes help with proper aeration.

My Leopard Print Shoes

I know y’all missed me :p I missed you too. I’d try not to stay this long again without posting stuff for all my darlings. On to new things, I always wanted leopard print shoes and had searched online on my various e-trek’s and even stores with no luck. So I decided to take the bull by the horn and went down the bespoke lane.

Fashion Camp (FC) Final Day

Remember I told you guys earlier in the day bouts my lecture at fashion camp. To be honest I was a bit unsure of how I would perform as a lecturer but luckily for me the environment was cozy and it turned out to be more of a discussion than a lecture per se.

The always adorable Arieta Mujay (above) and Biki John (below) who are both London based stylists set up the camp to educate and motivate young fashion talents in the country and I commend their efforts for trying to give back to their country and building the fashion industry here.

Fashion Blogger Ire (Voguish) and I. Below are some of the other participants from the seminar.

My Favorite Thing(s)- Thrift Shoulder Bag

In my usual fashion i copped this off a roadside seller recently and my fondness for it has continued to grow. It has enough pockets to hold cards and cash with a reasonable space for other daily needs.

My DIY Bleached Skinnies

Been searching for the ideal pair of DIY skinnies with no luck, so out of anger I decided to make one myself a couple of days ago. I tossed my Ralph Lauren (thrift) jeans into half a bucket of warm water fused with detergent and poured more than half a bottle of bleach into it, stirred it for a bit and voila!

ELAN UNCOVERED: Terence Sambo

I was featured in Elan’s Uncovered Style Section. Photography by Abraham Oghobase

Describe your personal style...

My style is a mix of different things. There's not one way to dress, so I like to keep things eclectic with a tribal touch.

What is your most prized possession?

The gift of Life, without it all else amounts to nothing.

Facts on interesting pieces you have on today and where they are from...

My double breasted blazers and trousers are bespoke by a Nigerian Label Clemas. We all know that ‘Bespoke' is the pot of gold at the top of the sartorial ladder.

If you could raid anybody's closet whose would it be and why?

Michael Jackson. It's funny I say this because I only started to look at his clothing from a style angle after his death. He had a great sense of style and rocked most things long before they became trendy.

What are 5 Items you really like and why?

Most of the items I like a lot I got for little (thrift a.k.a bend down select) or were gifted to me.

- My Sperry Topsider Deck shoes: I spotted them hanging at Ajah garage and I sure did not dull myself.

- My small frame bag: I copped this recently from a roadside seller. Its sturdy leather and I like the fact that the seller tried to match another leather strap to it with a slightly lighter shade of brown. Its adds character to it.

- My LV briefcase: it originally belonged to my friend's dad and is over a decade old but it was always idle in his wardrobe at Uni so I saved it from obscurity.

-My Bracelets: They were all bought separately from places like Freetown, Sierra Leone to Oniru Beach and Lagos Island.

-My Espadrilles: if I could choose only one kind of footwear to wear the rest of my life, it would be Espadrilles.

What is your favourite vacation spot and any interesting memories from there?

My favourite vacation spot would defintely be my hometown Okpoama in Bayelsa state. It's a cluster of islands 2 hours away from the state capital and only accessible by water or air. Whatever means you choose to get there, you are treated to the beautiful plains of the rainforests and its wildlife. My

favourite memories include walking the beaches, snail picking, helping returning fisherman haul their catch and being gifted fishes.

Who is your favourite fashion designer?

I don't have a particular favourite designer but rather a group of designers of Asian descent which include the South Korean trio of Juun J, Wooyoungmi and Songzio and Asian Americans Richard Chai and Alexander Wang.

Your "cannot do without" item or piece of clothing is...

My blackberry.

Saturday Outfit

I wore this to Temple Muse an upscale clothing store in Lagos for the debut of The Gatsby Collection by Kem Kem exclusively for the store. I decided to wear a cap as ive been influenced by Afghani men who wear their caps with everything. I also paired my Topman round collared shirt with my H&M grey pants. I copped my small frame bag from a roadside seller 3 weeks ago and its one of my fav items. My sandals are Clockhouse and my belt is Wrangler.

I’ve been getting loads of questions concerning my outfit for the FAB magazine launch, so I thought to address it here. The blazer’s not Topman, it’s by Upper although they are a Topman Concession sold on Topman’s online store. My trousers & espadrilles are H&M, curved collar shirt- Topman and my geek glasses were bought from a roadside retailer.
