Wana Sambo 'Light as Air' Fall/Winter 2011 Collection at Project Red Charity Fashion Show

The new collection aptly titled ‘Light as Air’ by designer Wana Sambo for her eponymous label was a combination of free flowing sultry fabrics if loose shapes and silhouettes. The pieces were inspired by France and this was evidenced by French singer -of Belgian and Rwandan origin- Stromae’s Alors on Danse track blazing through the speakers as the models navigated the runway.

The designer took a bold step away from the ubiquitous Ankara fabric, opting to employ it only for handmade woven hand bands whilst tulle fabric in different colors was used for the entire collection.

  1. Um...I cant really see the clothes properly but what I see isnt very impressive.

  2. Very unoriginal. I'll give her a D. I will say she has potential. Maybe take a fashion course or take up an apprenticeship, it'll make all the difference.

  3. wow. nice shapes... saw the collection at the Project Red fashion show. really nice. these pictures dont do the collection justice.
