Designer Ugonna Omeruo of House of Nwocha best known for her sharp futuristic dresses on red carpets on celebs like Muna, presented her spring summer 2011 collection titled ‘Zion’ yesterday at Fourpoints by Sheraton Hotel, Lagos. The frocks that rolled onto the runway were made in Asian silk fabrics –which I personally detest cos they made the clothes look cheap- in fuchsia pink, royal blue & black colors.
The international relations graduate had the designs well executed but I could not say the same for the finishing on some of the dresses. There was loads of interesting embellishments with sequins and stones which worked well in some cases and in others left me wondering if they could have been avoided.
Overall, it was a balanced collection in terms of color, fabric story and the inspiration behind the collection which was Asian samurai paintings were depicted properly through the clothes. A good showing…

I like your honest criticism of the clothes. Very rare for most Nigerian bloggers (except it's slander of course!)
ReplyDeleteAnyway about the show, I prefer Ugonna's personal style =)
